www.engineeringforhope.org has developed an
ultra low cost loo specifically for this purpose. You can see the basic
design by following the links. For your application, the poop would be collected in a 5 gallon bucket
with slits on bottom. The bucket with slits would sit inside another bucket which has a diversion tube
to collect the effluent in plastic container like empty detergent bottle. Total cost ~$12 and easily
transportable. There are many configurations,so this is not featured in the website yet. Composting
site is necessary. Effluent is added back into compost pile with no odor. We expect to publish videos
to train people how to make them and how to teach WASH hopefully within 3 months. Way too much to talk
