Nepal Crisis - Emergency Help sought!

As a charity working in 13 schools across 5 districts of Nepal we are struggling to cope with the devastating impact of the earthquake. Although I have just returned to the UK last week, we have a trustee on the ground and many of our team who are desperately trying to get emergency relief to some of our communities who have already run out of food. We cannot get in there fast enough - we have a 4X4pick up truck right now going between Kathmandu and Kavre district (Kushadevi village) but we have families children in Rasuwa who are completely alone without and decent shelter or food. The situation is totally unbelievable, we just cannot even get the cash into our teams hands even though we have raised £7000 in donations already. Please can you offer any advice you can as to how to deal with a situation like this? We are an education charity and have never been in this situation before.

We have been in touch with other charities all of whom have offered help but then haven't got back to us and it will soon be nightfall and again we are desperate for help. Let me know if there is anything else we or you can do, Thank you, Joey Owen

IN RESPONSE TO A REDR EMAIL asking for a specific query :

It is the logistics we are after. It is late now. We did get 2 truck loads of supplies out today to those who are out of food, but not in Rasuwa - and actually as we get more information in they are amongst around 100 villages still not 'accounted for'. So the specific question is how do we get directly in touch with rescue workers on the ground who have the means to get into the remote areas and persuade them to go to Rasuwa?

Thank you again, Joey
