An opportunity: Ashden International Awards - innovative sustainable
approaches to WASH
Do you know of a project that is using innovative sustainable energy technologies to deliver increased access to safe and affordable drinking water, water for agriculture, or equitable sanitation and hygiene? For example, solar and wind technologies for extracting, treating and distributing water or biogas latrine technologies.
The Ashden International Awards are now open, and they have an award sponsored by the Waterloo Foundation, which is looking for this type of project. There is a prize of up to £30,000 available, plus the prestige and opportunities associated with winning.

WaterAid Zambia has a few solar powered pump projects that extract water from boreholes using solar pumps and deliver to a piped drinking water project. The projects are fairly standard, not sure if they would qualify for an award.
