We're passionate about addressing global inequality and we believe that all of us have a role to play in ensuring that everyone, everywhere has the opportunities they need to flourish. We support around 70 people a year to work on international projects so there are opportunities to work overseas with Engineers Without Borders UK. However, our overseas project work is guided by the fundamental principle that we must do what is right for the communities which we are trying to support. Very often this means that sending people from the UK to those communities is not the most appropriate response. There is much you can do without going overseas, from inspiring and informing young people about global challenges through our Outreach programme to providing remote support or mentoring those that are working overseas.

If you want to get involved in International Development you could also look at consultancy positions such as ARUP ID, although I get the impression its quite a difficult field to break into (I'm just an undergraduate myself so I'm not entirely sure). I hear the best way to maximize your chances of getting into this line of work by volunteering whenever you can and getting experience.
