Many girls lose schooling because they do not have sanitary pads to use during their periods.

Is there a tested manufacturing process/method for local people to make washable pads for their local community?

Hi Helen, have a look at Menstrual Hygiene Matters which has many useful examples and links on the topic. Module 3 is relevant for you, and so is the training (below on the same page).

Please look at the above link regarding an amazing project in southern India which is very engaged with Social Enterprise.

Hello,

There is also a project in Uganda called Banapads making sanitary pads out of banana plant stems and then marketing them.

Hope this helps
