What would the maximum pipe length would the fan be able to push the air through and achieve the required temperatures?

A question from Stanford:I have been on your website a couple of times and believe you may have a solution for what I am looking at achieving in a project I am carrying out. This project is being carried out in an area where there is no utility supplies or mains power. I am trying to achieve in this project, i.e. to heat the space inside an enclosed building with flue type pipes but with a clean air close circuit pipe system. The system could alternatively just blow hot air into the area to be heated as long as the heating can be evenly distributed in the same area. My intention is to use the small kW rated fan preferably dc, or single phase or the ones on your website. The pipe to be used is the 250mm diameter pipe (material to be specified but good radiator of heat inside the area to be heated). The target temperature(s) in the area to be heated is between 25 to 35 degrees Celcius and the dimensions of the room would be 33 metres (about maximum) long, 6 metres wide and about 2m high.

My queries are as follows

  1. What would the maximum pipe length would the fan be able to push the air through and achieve the required temperatures? Ambient temperatures can be as low as zero degrees Celcuis in winter.

  2. How many pipe bends at most?

  3. An estimate of the inlet and outlet temperatures into and out of the area being heated or pipe?

  4. The required heating capacity of the heater. The air heater will heat a pipe through which air is being forced to flow by the small fan, or hot air simply being pushed into the area to be heated!!.

  5. Any specifics on pipe specifications particularly those inside the building to achieve good and efficient heat transfer?

  6. If an external independent powered fan is to be used, does the fan need to be a variable speed one? Please let me know if you would need further info to complete the exercise, and then we can discuss around the costing estimate(s) for various options if there a many. I would be glad to get contacts of a specific person to discuss this either over the phone or via email so that we can agree on alternatives and scope.

Many thanks and Regards, Stanford Musengezi

It would help potential helpers if you publish some diagram of what, the where, the how big you want the fan, the pipes, the heat, etc... I am afraid engineering problems without pictures or drawings do not result in good solutions. Just a thought.

Many thanks @aidos.nando, Ahana has now uploaded a diagram.
