I wanted to get in touch because I work for a humanitarian design agency currently focusing on the development of a small medicine/vaccine refrigerator, designed for the transport of medical supplies in emergency situations. To ensure that this device is as beneficial as possible to people working in the field, I am contacting people with field experience during the initial stages of development to get an idea of the difficulties currently faced.

If you have any ideas or insight into this area of operations, or know anyone who may be interested in having a chat about this project I would love to hear from you, my contact details are below.

Regards,

James

  1. I did some work with a group out of MIT called Design that Matters, who will be worth contacting. Please Google search them
  2. The institute for manufacturing. Cambridge University did some work with this as well. Contact Jim Platts regards this (search for his email address on www.ifm.eng.cam.ac.uk )
  3. I also did some consultancy work on cold chain equipment for WHO, unfortunately this isn’t open information. But I will find out whether I can share it.
  4. I’ve attached an old copy of cold chain equipment specs; it may be worth getting a newer one from the WHO website...

Any further queries, please give me a call, happy to talk (even about logs!), or email our tech support query service through the web address below:
