Rural WASH committee approaches
Has anyone got examples of different 'WASH committee' approaches and alternatives for very rural areas? We have the opportunity to try something innovative if we can find or develop the right model. I'm aware that a traditional WASH committee approach has significant disadvantages particularly in terms of sustainability so would be hoping to do something different but we're working very rurally so it feels quite restrained in terms of outside support. We're looking for ways of maintaining handpumps and community latrines (at health posts, churches, schools). Any ideas appreciated!
