Has anyone compared the actual output of solar water pumps from different manufacturers?

We are looking for a comparative test of different solar pumps in the same conditions

I have just spotted that this question has not been answered. I personally do not have any direct knowledge of any such study. I have linked this question to a few other groups to see if it will elicit and answer from anywhere else.

I don't think I'm fully understanding the question. Are you asking for data on if pumps meet their promised specifications at a particular total dynamic head and electrical input? Or you asking if someone has (for example) placed multiple pumps into the same borehole one after another, with the same solar input, and seen how they perform?

My question is about placing different pumps in the same conditions at the same time and see how they perform. Given that during the day the energy provided by the solar panel keeps changing and since different brands have different starting currents I was wondering how their daily outputs actually compare in a real situation.

We will be using SQFlex from grundfos, designed for this variable power delivery from panels. Less sun, less water for sure but design for the location/pv panels output/pump specs and a pump from decent brand should deliver stated head/discharge. If you want more water just get a bigger array (80cents a watt); the SQFlex series are same effectively same price for different sizes. In your test a cheap pump may surpass one of higher quality only to fail in the hole a month later...

If you understand French, this recent publication by Ps-Eau compares practical experiences in solar water supply. Part 7 has actual experiences.

One of the best organisations to ask on any renewable energy issue is, The Centre For Alternative Technology, in Wales.

They were pioneers were renewable energy, have an extensive bookshop and an information service available.
