There is a huge amount of information available. We ourselves run training courses in all these areas - see our website for more details. We also have Engineering in Emergencies, an excellent book that covers a lot of very practical aspects of all parts of humanitarianism, available from our website or amazon.com.

In terms of free resources - you can look at the WASH pages of www.humanitarianreform.org website and go to the project pages for training materials in water, sanitation and hygiene in emergencies. John Hopkins University, WEDC at Loughborough University and University of Wisconsin have modules on emergency WASH for distance learning, but not all are free.

For humanitarianism - a bit more difficult - see also engineering in emergencies. You could look at www.aidworkers.net for advice, see also www.alertnet.org and www.reliefweb.net for lists of resources

Security is also not easy for free materials - the UN has an online security test - https://dss.un.org/dssweb/ but for UN and their partner organisations. Books - probably the best still are K Van Brabant - Operational Security Management in Violent Environments (for security management), David Lloyd Roberts - Staying Alive (for personal security) but both, especially the second has a more international NGO focus, the first would still be a good book to look at for security management.
